Throughout his graduate studies, Brett trained under several renowned practitioners in the fields of Pain Management and Sports Medicine Acupuncture. He completed advanced graduate-level classes in Orthopedic Acupuncture and Integrative Pain Management, and utilized these holistic techniques as both an Intern in the PCOM clinic and as an Extern treating student-athletes at the UCSD-RIMAC sports training facility. Brett has participated in extensive seminars focusing upon the treatment of orthopedic disorders incorporating acupuncture, PNF stretching, and home-based corrective exercises. He remains committed to practicing Functional Medicine, an approach to health-care that focuses upon the root causes of disease, and views the body as one integrated system, not a collection of independent organs divided up by medical specialties.
